The Role
We are seeking an additional member to join our HSEQ team – a dedicated professional to oversee the success and development of our organisation’s health, safety, environmental and quality programs. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, detail oriented and passionate about providing advice and support for compliance and process improvement, with a focus on enhancing safety and reducing risk.
This role requires on-site contributions with a hands-on approach to support our team members with their ongoing learning and development related to our practices and systems.
As our HSEQ - Return to Work Advisor, you will have a pivotal role in ensuring the effective maintenance and continuous improvement of our Business Management System (BMS) to meet ISO certifications criteria. Your assistance in the Return-To-Work process will be essential in supporting the wellbeing of our team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure that the BMS processes and deliverables align with the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO27001 standards, and oversee continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and support external audits to maintain our ISO certifications.
- Plan, review and manage the performance of HSEQ programs.
- Implement safety practices that align with our business operations
- Collaborate with Managers to ensure their areas achieve individual, team, departmental and business BMS-related objectives and address audit observations.
- Evaluate and report on BMS performance to the Executive Leadership Team, Management Review Meetings and other forums as required.
- Facilitate and lead the Return-To-Work SA injury management, recovery and return-to-work processes within the organisation.
- Facilitate Risk Management processes including Risk Assessments, Hazard Identification, and JSEAs/SWMS.
This role can be either full-time or part-time. We are focused on finding the best candidate.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following knowledge, capabilities and qualities:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Certificate IV in OH&S or relevant qualifications.
- Experience in the construction industry is desirable.
- Return-To-Work Coordinator certification training is desirable, or willing to undertake
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice with the ability to apply, communicate and facilitate compliance requirements.
- Ability to balance company job requirements with safety practices
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes, drive change and foster a strong health and safety culture.
- Knowledge and experience working with certified ISO management systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to be proactive and solutions driven with tasks
- Ability to multi-task and successfully manage competing priorities
- Experience in managing direct reports
