Common User Facility

AG Security Group was selected by McConnell Dowell to perform the security works for the Port Adelaide Maritime Corporation Common User Facility. This initiative required superior high-level security and innovation, given the defence nature of the project. Completed only recently, the Team at AG Security Group successfully engineered, manufactured and installed the largest set of automated sliding gates in Australia and the southern hemisphere.

Designing automated gates of such a substantial size is no easy task, standard gate features had to be completely reengineered to satisfy our client’s strict demands. The critical challenges that dictated the design were the site terrain (soil) which was very unstable, furthermore a 1000 ton crane needed to travel over the gate footing/plinth and track repeatedly. Finally we had to ensure that our heavy duty gate automation motors would stand the test of time and recurring use.

The completed project achieved all of the defence security standards and the client was highly satisfied with the outcome.
