APA Group

AG Security Group were chosen by APA Group Ltd, one of Australia's largest critical infrastructure energy companies which owns and operates electricity and natural gas assets throughout the country, to deliver all security services for their national Murraylink and Directlink electricity transmission interconnectors program.

Murraylink delivers electricity between South Australian and Victoria, where the converter stations are located at Red Cliffs, Victoria and in Berri, South Australia.

Directlink delivers electricity between New South Wales and Queensland, where the converter stations are located at Bungalora, New South Wales and in Mullumbimby, New South Wales, very close to the Queensland border.

This was a significant design and construct program where the projects were geographically spread nationally, while all converter station sites were exceptionally high risk from a health and safety management perspective.

Our nationally recognised technical capability in delivering integrated security services for utilities and energy critical infrastructure projects, in addition to our national award-winning safety management system, were key to delivering operational outcomes without compromising health and safety requirements. We also supported APA Group with their safety and accreditation audits completed by The Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) throughout the projects, where our positive safety performance and achievements were recognised.

For this program, the scope of our security services delivered consisted of the design, supply, installation and integration of:
- Electronic security including Access Control, Alarm Detection, Alarms and Monitoring
- Physical perimeter security including Electric Fencing, Automated Gates, Security Fencing, Bollards, Chain Wire Fencing, 258 High Security Steel Weld Mesh Fencing and civil works.
